This BMW 326 was the last project of Dutchman Coos van der Tuyn, creater of the BMW Coturas, before his untimely death in March 1954. It was unfinished and remained in rolling chassis form based on a BMW 326. The 328`s which van der Tuyn had used for his Coturas were even in the early fifties sought after, so he turned his interest to the box section chassis of the 326 which had been usedpostwar in Bristol 400. The sturdy 326 chassis was shortened from the front, creating a wheelbase of 256 cm, something BMW had considered for a sporting version of the 326 but it was rejected as being too costly so the chassis of the 315/319 series was used for the BMW 328.

Herman Roosdorp, a Belgian with Dutvch roots who had raced against the Coturas in his Ferrari 166, bought the shortened chassis and brought it to Antwerp where he had a thriving garage. Roosdorp gave up his racing after 1955 - he was then already 60 years old - and apparantly lost interest in the BMW project which remained unused, hidden under a pile of tires in his garage. After his dead in 1965 the shortened chassis was sold to an old car enthausiast. It was found by formal owner in 1988 and he was able to buy the project BMW four years later.

The chassis was in very good condition, all mechanical parts were almost as new. The building of the body and finishing of the car was in 2001. During the following years further devlopment was done resulting in a highly driveable sports special.
